I am therefore instructed to invite Your Lord-

ship's attention to this important matter, in the

hope that such investigation and action may be had

and taken by Her Majesty's Government, as will lead

to the suppression, or if that be not feasible or

practicable to the effective restriction of the

activity of the Philippine Junta in Hong Kong.

As the resistance to the authority of the United

States in the Islands has been reduced to the opera-

tions of lawless bands, which will be actively pur-

sued by the aid of the Junta during the approaching

campaign season Your Lordship's early attention

to the matter will greatly oblige my Government.
